Google Video Chat is here

There is a new feature from Google and I’m sure that most Gmail user would be proud of it because now they video chat on Gmail itself. Remember that they are already have the ability to let you talk through them Googletalk. Now they have decided to take us to the nest level, video chatting. I’m a proud user of Googletalk and I always chat with it because I found it more convenient from Yahoo Messenger, I’m having some problem accessing my emails on the latter so I tend not to use any of their products.

The system would work on Windows XP and later version of the software. You could download it through mail.google.com/video chat. Just install it and let them handle the rest. I want to use this feature but since the sound on my computer isn’t working I’m afraid that this feature wouldn’t do any good. I would have to upgrade my computer because I have forgotten to install the software for the sound when I upgraded it the last time.

Yahoo has beaten Google

It seems that Google isn’t the choice for most users right now because recently I have posted about Alexa’s top 10 websites and it show Yahoo on top. I’m sure that a lot of Google haters will be proud of this because they don’t need to depend on Google anymore to get some good traffic for free.

I have consulted Alexa’ top 500 for that list and I’m sure that it’s 100% accurate because this is based on the new ranking system to which Alexa has claimed that will better than the old one because the traffic ranks are now based on how many are visiting your site. I remember that the old ranking system used Alexa toolbar as away to measure how popular is your website so that will only mean you can just download the toolbar and run it across your computers. The hold Alexa ranking system will show you on top. Now since adapting the new system many have claimed that their rank has dropped, but others have also claimed that that their ranking improved. Let’s us go back to main topic and end this now.

Before Google, Yahoo has already dominated the internet for years but then Google come along and become popular with the internet users. As Google become popular, they have created many rules that have affected lots of webmasters around the world such as the banning of too much viral marketing and a lot more. They have purchase one website and then they want to grow. Now that they have purchased most of the popular ones, it gotten to their heads and most of the webmasters this days are looking up to them to get some traffic. I have heard from one of my friends that Google has said that “If they want free traffic, they must follow the rules. So we follow their rules and we get some good traffic. The only one that I know who has been defying Google is John Chow which has gotten his site penalized as a result of his mass viral marketing tactics.

After several years of Google domination, it seems that the people using the internet are now turning to Yahoo for most of their search. This is a good thing because it will only mean that Yahoo can get us more traffic better than Google. We don’t have to depend on Google anymore for most of our traffic. I don’t want to defy Google but I don’t also want to depend on them for most of my traffic because they want to control us. I’m not saying that Yahoo is an Angel but I’m just pointing out that it is better if Yahoo will dominate because Google has made a lot of rules regarding with their free traffic. I know that Yahoo will eventually change its rules on their free traffic but I’m glad that they are the one on top right now because it’s better if we will be depending on the two. If we can’t follow the other one’s rule then we can switch to the other one. It is better to have two giants fighting each other than to have one giant dominate us. As long as they aren’t going to merge then the results will be in our favor.
