Independence Day In the Philippines Independence day is June 12. It started about a hundred years ago, actually 110 years a go to be exact. This is the time when the Philippines have gotten free from the powerful grasps of the Spaniards back then.

Today we are celebrating Independence Day to celebrate our freedom but I doubt if we are truly free because we have adopted some of the traditions and traits of other nations like the Spaniards, Americans and so one. We are a mix-race that is living in this country.

As I’m writing this article right now the president of the Philippines is leading the Independence Day on Rizal Park in Manila. Arroyo is unveiling the Independence Day Flag pole following shortly is the raising of the Philippine Flag and other ceremonies. The government is willing to limit fun fare in the celebration of this special day.

Puno will lead Independence Day on Cotobato. The reenactment of this day will be held in Angeles city San Fernado which will be headed by former Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan as guest of honor and speaker.
