WordPress 2.5.1: Would you upgrade?
Two weeks ago I have just upgraded my Wordpress from 2.3 to 2.5. I was surprised to find out that after two weeks that I have upgraded it, another upgrade is available. They are claiming that this new upgrade will fix those bugs that come with the Wordpress 2.5 upgrade. I have provided the highlights.
- Performance improvements for the Dashboard, Write Post, and Edit Comments pages.
- Better performance for those who have many categories
- Media Uploader fixes
- An upgrade to TinyMCE 3.0.7
- Widget Administration fixes
- Various usability improvements
- Layout fixes for IE
I remember when the wordpress 2.5 is just new. They have also said the same thing on it but we find having lots of bugs that comes with using it. Now that they are claiming that they have solve it. Do you think that this is really true or they just want to discover some more bugs that are attach to it?
As far as I remember every time new software is out that most computer software manufacturer’s are releasing on the early stages has this problem. This is like the Vista that many has claimed that it has lots of problem with. Most of these problems are from the fact that it can’t support other software. This is the same reason why more people are now using XP instead of Vista. I have tackled XP and Vista because this is the same case with WordPress 2.5 and Wordpress 2.5.1. I think that we must not rush to upgrade every time we see something new.
This is also the same case when buying something new when we something new in the market. We may find out that we shouldn’t rush on things that we aren’t that familiar with at that time. Don’t go for something hot just to be in.
